this semester
I really enjoyed this class, i liked doing the research probably more than doing the actual paintings and being able to experiment was a nice change for me.
last painting
the last painting i did this semester is a picture of my old roommates and i sitting on a couch at a party.
painting # 9
this is a painting of my sisters figure (without a face) multiplied 16 times on a sheet of yupo paper.
painting # 8
My eighth painting is another self portrait, though it looks more like my sister than me.
painting # 6
For this painting i decided to paint my niece, who in the picture is stuck in a tube at chucky cheese. I thought the picture was funny and i wanted to paint her in a way that was not trite, so i made her face yellow and orange and her hair green. The scared expression on her face is my favorite part.

Painting Six
I've decided to do a few more painting like the self-portrait I did of myself. That was a really fun painting to work on and I want to experiment alittle more in that direction.
Midterm
Well I finished all 5 paintings on time for the midterm. That was a big relief, even though I knew some of the paintings were really not up to par. Its nice to begin working on stuff that I'm more interested in, not to say that those assignments weren't fun, they were.

figures at night
This assignment was a lot more fun than I anticipated! I got to take a bunch of cool pictures and hang out with people I dont really talk to much in class and I really enjoyed that. My focus was unusual sense of scale and although I didn't get a lot of "unusual pictures" I am quite happy with what I have. Being able to do work outside of the classroom was also really nice. Thanks Bryce!
progress?
I'm making little progress, i've sort of completed two paintings and plan to finish the third this weekend. Hopefully. Actually yes I will finish it! Dont worry Bryce!

reflected figure
this assignment sounds pretty interesting to me, i like doing research and involving friends as models so this should be fun! i havent taken any pictures yet, but i will this weekend (hopefully) if my camera will stop being retarded. i dont have any set ideas yet, im just going to have to do some running around.
progress on self portrait
Hey its Whitney and i have really enjoyed working on this first painting. Its nice to let loose and try some different painting styles and experiment with mixing media. Last semester i stuck to doing traditional portraits, which honestly bored the hell out of me, but they turned out ok i guess. I've been using translucent yupo that I ordered from cheap joes and its pretty awesome, i cant wait to see how the rest of this painting evolves.
